Timers for Exercise and the Gym
In physical training, the time you rest is just as important as the weight you lift or the distance you run.

Hypertrophy vs Strength
Depending on your goals, you should set your Timer with very different intervals:
- HIIT Training: Requires short active times and ultra-short rests. For example, 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest.
- Hypertrophy (muscle growth): The scientific standard suggests rests between 60 and 90 seconds between sets to allow ATP resynthesis without losing the cellular pump.
- Pure strength: Powerlifters often set timers for a full 3 to 5 minutes between heavy sets to allow the central nervous system to fully recover.
